Independence Day closures, schedule changes

AUBURN, Ala.- Most City facilities will be closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Downtown parking will be free with the exception of the Wright Street Parking Deck.

Thursday's garbage, trash and recycling collection routes will run on Friday, July 5. Public Safety services will remain on their regular schedules.

The Auburn Public Library will be closed. Book drops will remain open, and the online collection of e-books, e-audiobooks and digital magazines are always available at auburnalabama.org/library.

All Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed with the exception of Samford Pool, which will be open from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. All Parks and Recreation parks, playgrounds and cemeteries will be open sunup to sundown.

The community is invited to Parks and Recreation's Independence Day Celebration on July 4 at 5 p.m. at the field behind Duck Samford Stadium. Fireworks will begin around 9 p.m.
